The Lolo Overland Adventure Party, in Troutdale OR, marked the end of the Winter 2022 treasure hunt. This was a two-month, nationwide treasure hunt that covered 10 states with over $25,000 in prizes. Roughly how it worked was a capsule containing a QR code message was hidden somewhere in each state. Once a week coordinates and clues were released. Participants that found the capsule won a prize. The party started around 10 am and it didn’t take long for the parking lot to fill up. Vehicles, laden in off-road gear, roof top tents, pull out drawer systems, 35 inch tires, and Maxtrax traction boards span from end to end.
Directly in front of the store were vendor stands showcasing gear, swag, stickers, cooking food, providing drinks, and entertainment.
Here are some of these vendors:
Midcity Smashburger was honestly my most favorite. They were a small food cart vendor that offered burgers.

The line for this vendor was by far the longest line out of any, but for good reason. The smell wafting from the grill was intoxicating. The burgers were a flat patty pressed against the hot grill, topped with a “15 ingredient” sauce that would beat nearly any competitor, smothered in cheese, and wedged between two pub style buns. The flavor was jaw-droppingly-unbelievable.

I had barely finished my first burger before I found myself quickly back in line. I had to have more of the addictive combination still savored in my mouth. Unfortunately, the burgers were so popular the small food stand sold out.
My family to this day still raves about how we need to visit this restaurant outside of the event.

Another vendor was Ironman 4X4. For those that don't know, Ironman 4X4 offers a plethora of off-road equipment. Including but not limited to, recovery equipment, camping accessories, awnings, and roof top tents. Their gear is reasonably priced and readily available.
They are always very inviting and eager to answer questions, simple or complex. Their customer service is very helpful.
Their display was multiple trucks decked to the nine with brand name off-road equipment and newly released Ironman 4X4 Swift 1400 Hard Shell RTT (seen in this photo).
Entertainment was found at the Oregon Airsoft Arena & Tactical Store vendor.

These guys brought a trailer converted into an airsoft shooting range. Participates shot and won a custom Lolo Adventure Party medallion.

Some kids, maybe mine, lined up again and again to shoot the airsoft guns. The staff were super friendly and very patient.
Last but not least; Pfriem, a family-owned craft beer company.

Nestled in front of the store and beneath a Pfriem labeled sun awning tent lay a valiant trooper manning multiple kegs single handedly. Not an easy task especially when its free beer for the masses, but he held his ground, refused tips, and graciously refilled cup after cup with a slight smile on his face. Not all heroes wear capes. Cheers for beers from Pfriem.
After a couple of hours, a raffle, and the announcement of the grand prize winner the party began to dwindle down. The clouds gathered and the once sunny morning turning to raining afternoon. Patrons gathered their gear, swag, prizes, and left the lot at the Lolo party.
We are looking forward to the next adventure with Lolo. Their staff is very personable and entertaining. They have a shop and fully loaded showroom located in Troutdale, OR. If you are interested in shopping anything overland or camping I would highly recommend checking them out. They also have an online store.
